Feather Edge Fence Board (1800 x 125 x EX 22mm) - Pressure Treated Brown Timber
These 1800 x 125mm feather edge boards are mostly used by our customers to build closeboard fencing and will be attached vertically to fence rails (known as Arris rails).
The term feather edge refers to the shape of the board. Each one starts out as a single 22mm thick board which is why we list them as EX 22mm. This is then machine cut diagonally to make two feather edge boards - each with a taper from thick (approx. 15mm) to thin (approx. 6mm).
We Recommend 50mm Galvanised Wire Nails to attach these boards to Arris rails
Each board is cut from a 22 x 125 mm section, producing two tapered boards with a thick edge of approx. 13 mm and a thin edge of approx. 8 mm. Allowing for a 25 mm overlap between boards means around 10 boards are needed per metre of fencing. For best results, nails should only penetrate one board to avoid splitting over time.
All feather edge boards are pressure treated to protect against fungal decay and insect attack. They can be combined with fence panel battens to build custom fencing panels, and are complemented by gravel boards to provide a neat, durable finish at the base of the fence.
